Meet the Keynote Speaker

Dr. Hector Flores is a founding member of the Adventist Health White Memorial (AHWM) Family Medicine Residency Program in Los Angeles. The Residency Program was established in 1988 with the expressed purpose of providing a high quality education to prepare physicians for practice in shortage areas and to contribute to diversity in the health professions. To date, of the almost 300 graduates from the program 70% are working in underserved areas, 65% are from groups under-represented in Medicine, and 30% are in leadership positions in the medical community.

Dr. Flores is the Medical Director of the Altais/Family Care Specialists (FCS) Medical Group and Altais/FCS IPA which collectively serve approximately 25,000 beneficiaries comprised of Medi-Cal, Medicare, and Commercial coverage and 5% who are uninsured. His most recent effort is working with the California Medical Association (CMA) initiative on the historic MCO Tax and Medi-Cal Modernization.
